Foreign Policy

exoterikon

The NIKI movement emphasizes maintaining existing global borders, particularly those affecting Greece. It supports international law and acknowledges the role of international organizations in conflict resolution but stresses that Greece’s diplomatic strength must be backed by military readiness, national defense, and economic power. The movement seeks an independent global stance, balancing NATO and EU commitments with national interests. It opposes negotiations with Turkey while the casus belli remains and advocates for expanding territorial waters to 12 nautical miles. NIKI supports strong ties with the Greek diaspora, defends the Greek identity of Macedonia, and stands with Cyprus in its efforts to regain full sovereignty.

Greece - Turkey relationship

NIKI calls for a unified national strategy across political parties to counter Turkish demands and opposes secret diplomatic dealings. It rejects political dialogue with Turkey under the casus belli threat and demands the immediate expansion of territorial waters to 12 nautical miles. The movement supports exclusive economic zone (EEZ) negotiations with Cyprus under international law, enforcing maritime spatial planning, and pressuring the EU to act against Turkish obstruction of energy projects. It urges the Greek government to set a clear timeline for compliance with EU maritime regulations.

National Defense

NIKI views national defense as a collective societal effort and advocates for educational initiatives to strengthen national identity. It emphasizes maintaining high military readiness, integrating Greece and Cyprus under a unified defense doctrine, and establishing a National Security Council overseeing intelligence services. The movement supports developing an independent Greek defense industry, requiring that a portion of foreign arms contracts be fulfilled domestically. It proposes mandatory military service at 18, financial incentives for soldiers, and better housing for military personnel in border regions.

Illegal Migration

NIKI firmly opposes illegal immigration, arguing that it threatens Greece’s national identity and social cohesion. It supports strict border controls, repatriation agreements with non-EU countries, and EU-wide deportation policies. The movement advocates for diplomatic initiatives to address migration at its source and emphasizes prioritizing Greek citizens in the labor market through education and economic incentives. It also promotes peace efforts in war-torn regions to facilitate the return of refugees.
